Heavenly Father, you are the giver of the water of life. You pour your love into our lives, and you set us on a course that you destined for us before we were born. We profess to love you yet we put limits on you. Or we elevate ourselves thinking you cannot possibly accomplish all that you have planned for us without our help. You love to partner with your children; but you don’t need us. And you certainly don’t need us to try to control Your plans. Let us stop trying to direct the flow of our lives. Make us like Abraham. Give us a trust that is deeply seeded in the confidence that You, and You alone are the author of our lives. Nothings we can create for ourselves will ever come close to the glory you have for our future. Forgive our arrogance. Forgive our selfishness. Forgive our pride. Set us afloat and help us to enjoy the flow. In Jesus’ precious name I pray. Amen.
