Lord, Easter weekend reminds me that I spend too much time and energy lamenting my Good Fridays or trying to create my Easter Sundays. I overlook the quiet opportunity of Saturdays. Our lives are filled with opportunities to draw close to you. To immerse ourselves in your Word. The lean into You and trust Your plans. To grow through our Good Fridays so that we can be used by You to create Easter Sundays in our lives and the lives of others.
Lord, forgive me when I am more concerned with making things happen or whining about what didn’t work than I am in talking with You. Let me run to you first and always. Not just in sadness or celebration. But in the everyday, mundane moments of life. Let me see you on the drives to work, in the school activities, the lunches with friends, routine nights with family, yard work and house cleaning. Let me recognize your presence is with me always. Remind me that You want to be a part of everything I do.
And Lord, please place in my heart a deep desire to know you more. To make time with you a priority. To close my eyes to the natural world and hush the noise that I might hear the still small voice of Holy Spirit calling me to spend my Saturdays with You.
In the precious name and blood of Jesus Christ. Amen.
