Spring is close. It peaks out with warmer temperatures, the return of robins, and maybe even the green shoots of crocus and daffodils. And then without warning, winter forces its way back with inches of snow that temporarily cover the signs of a new season. But trust in what God has done before, and will do again. For in Him, we find renewal.
Heavenly Father, this time of year we are surrounded by contradiction. Warm temps one day, frigid wind the next. Yet in these seasons of change, you are at work. Just under the surface, Your hand is building and birthing new life. You will bring forth renewal on your schedule, not ours. You will astound us with the delicate beauty of spring flowers and the hardiness of trees that once again push forth buds after a season of rest. You will remind us that as much as you love and care for nature, you adore us even more; you tend to our hearts with the skill of the master gardener. Weeding the harmful, unproductive shoots allowing us to bloom for You. Let us trust the process. Let us trust the dormancy. Let us trust the struggle. Let us trust that just as you have always been faithful, you will be faithful once again. Let us remember always that we are created to be beautiful and to bring Your love and joy into the world. A world sometimes covered with unexpected storms and unpredictable circumstances. Your love and beauty equip us to melt the coldest hearts. We need only to be willing to be used. Let this be a season or renewal for us as children of God and for the world in which you placed us. For this is our time as determined by You. Let us not waste it. In Jesus Precious Name, I pray. Amen.
